To celebrate the Country Football Game on May 13 there will be a Country Legends Football Luncheon at Crown Casino Palladium, raising funds for the Royal Flying Doctors to continue providing acute Mental Health Support Services throughout Rural Australia.

To back the fundraising efforts several the games greats will be joining Sheedy on the day including Frawley, Dunstall, Williams, Newman, Brereton, Archer, Johnston and more.

As a fundraiser for your local clubs or chosen programs we can provide one of three options. (The event flyer is attached)

$500 discount for any table of 10 purchased through your members.
$500 donation back to the club’s development program of their choice for any table of 10 sold.
Or simply an extra $500 donation back to the Royal Flying Doctors Services for every table of 10 sold through the Country Footy Clubs.

“The ‘Country Game’ was born out of a very simple concept, celebrate the great people who keep our country going,” Sheedy said.

Good mental health is important for everyone and while people living in country Australia are often characterised as being naturally resilient, like everyone they can experience tough times.
Accessing mental health services in rural and remote areas can often be very difficult, with people living in these areas being even more isolated in times of need. The Country Legends Lunch is helping the RFDS works to bridge this gap in access to mental health services.

Sheedy also mentioned, “The people across regional Australia don’t get enough recognition for their tireless work, and we should celebrate the history of agriculture and farming to Australia’s economy, as well as the people who live and work in these regional towns. There are 8.6 million people in Australia who don’t live in the big cities and this is their time on the stage,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity.”
